Founded in 1991 by Emirati motorsport legend Mohammed Ben Sulayem and organized by the Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO), the event tests competitors against the vast and unforgiving dunes of the UAE’s Rub’Al Khali Desert, often referred to as the world’s largest sand ocean.
