Thrass PAPADIMITRIOU

Over an 18 year career with BMW Motorcycle Group, Thrass has earned cross-functional experience with is an invaluable addition to this background as Chief Executive Officer of GR1T Motorcycles.

Thrass joined the BMW Motorcycle Group in 2003 and in the research and development department. From this position, he acted as development engineer for bodywork and trim of the K1200R, K1200 Sport and S1000 RR models.

From February 2007 to March 2012, Thrass was employed by the Design Department of BMW AG. In this capacity, he acted as project manager and studio engineer for BMW Motorcycles Design, working on the F800 family as well as the first and second generation of the S1000 RR. He also worked as Urban Mobility Manager for BMW Motorcycles, working on the C600 Sport and C650 GT, the C Evolution, and the Concept C and Concept e BMW I and Mini for single-track vehicle concepts.

In April 2012, Thrass joined the Corporate Strategy Department of BMW, where he worked as project manager for a new product portfolio of NineT, K1600B & GTL, R18, Urban mobility concepts and single-cylinder platform for BMW & Husqvarna.

From July 2014 until September 2021, Thrass was a member of the Marketing & Sales Department of BMW Motorcycles, where he was responsible for a number of crucial tasks including, Head of Business Development for the NineT and R18 Product Families, Business Development Leader for the Rent a Ride Digital Platform, and Project Leader for Mobility Solutions.

Thrass earned a Bachelors’ of Engineering Design at Coventry University in the United Kingdom. He also completed a 15-month industrial placement at Triumph Motorcycles in the UK as a Chassis Design Engineer, working on the Daytona 600 and Speed Four.
